Reviews of Free Surface Effect

K. Bynum
“I couldn’t stop reading it. From the opening mushy live stuff to a beheading to a freak torturing someone? Loved it!!! Start to finish, I could not put it down.  You should make this into a movie too!! It is awesome!!” – K. Bynum

D. Zattau
“I love the book! It’s scary in that I believe it could possibly happen (yikes!), at least with what I know about cruise liner security. Good job!”

Jo Ann Holt – Focus Daily News
“It’s good to have Parker Glynn back in action, keeping the terrorists and bad guys at bay. Looking forward to Glynn’s next page-turning adventure!”

Jacksonville’s own terrorist fighter Parker Glynn is back in business in a big way. This time he is working to save the entire country.

Glynn, who lost his family in the 9/11 attack, rescued the city from terrorists in Jacksonville Beach author Ron Whittington’s debut 2010 novel “Second Strike.” Then he moved on and upward as a James Bond-type government agent fighting bad guys in California’s wine country in “Doppelganged.”

Now he makes it to the big leagues in Whittington’s latest thriller, “Free Surface Effect.”

Al-Qaeda terrorists are planning a major assault on the country’s ports using oil tankers and cruise ships.

“If we’re successful, our assault will be heralded as the second 9/11 …. Once again we will use their own technology to kill their people and strike the evil Satan….”

It’s up to Glynn and his fellow freedom fighters to save the day.

As always, Whittington loads up the adventure with fascinating travelogue detail. So, if you’re planning on taking a Caribbean cruise, read “Free Surface Effect” beforehand to prepare, but don’t try to take along your AK-47.

Lee Scott cruises out of Avondale.
